Short info in English
This website is based on archives of our family. My grandfather C.P.I. Dommisse created the used archive. Most parts of this site are only available in Dutch because I can’t change the fact that almost all documents, I have, are written in the Dutch language. The Genealogical part is available in several languages however. Just click on the appropriate flag in the lower part of the screen. You also can use the forum in your own language. After registering (Registreer) accept the conditions by clicking the top option. Fill in you Username, e-mail address, Password, Repeat Password and copy the code presented to the lower field Go to the bottom of theform and edit "Dutch" to your favourite language. Click OK and wait for things to happen, you will be redirected to the starting page. Now the forum is in your own language, go to profile again, now you understand the options and you can set your profile the way you whish. If you are a member of an Address Book the default language will be the language that is best understood by the majority of that group, and it is userdefinable. If you are interested in the Dutch translation of the program just follow this link.
The startingpoint of the genealogy-part was also written by my grandfather, who worked on it during most of his life. The first milestone was reached in 1897 when he published his book on this subject. Almost every living member of the family had been registered by that time - that is, he thought that was so. A considerable part of the archive consists of notes made as a supplement on that first book. My grandfather would like to have finished those notes into a second book, but then World War II came and made that impossible. It was the combination of his age and the complications of the war that weakened him so bad that he did not survive it. As he was the only person who had correspondence with far relatives, this
familytree stops where the correspondence stopped. From his notes I know
there were contacts all over the world, but during the last part of his
life and after his death i can't find any correspondence.
Some of the reasons could be, the first part of the survey was rounded by
sending the book to his known relatives and there were no reasons to keep
the contacts alive.
